700th Post! Hello guys! So long since I last blogged (: I have done so much since and hmm where should I start... Anyway, so glad Os are over! Feels kinda weird not going to school anymore though. Miss asking too many weird questions in class and disturbing my table mates. I have been working from the 16th to 19th at the New Balance warehouse sale and it was definitely a great experience! Did lots of things and met lots of nice and some scary fierce people but glad I went for it(: not my kind of job but fun nonetheless. Trekked on the 20th with Florence, Weeming, Irene, Nithya, Yupei, Aishu and Rachel it was really tough for me but we made it anyway and I am so proud of myself and all of us (: First time I did anything like that and I loved it even though I sustained many cuts and itches. Planning for tourist day was so much fun haha I swear I love my friends they are amazing (: can't wait to sleepover at nithya's and nat's (: Today I went to the National Museum with Milton! It was so much fun we almost lost our way while walking there but I had lots of fun (: although I went there for LJ before, I didn't really had the luxury of time the last time so I took my time through the gallery and took in much much more. I found out about people who cared greatly for their communities that stood up and fought for them. These people believed in their beliefs strongly and were really passionate about what they do. They inspire me to do the same. I am gonna make sure whatever I do in future, I'm contributing to the good of the world (: Environmental engineer that builds things that ensures the sustainability of the Earth and a part time social worker, reaching out to those in need is my dream. At night I went to help out at Pasir ris East Meet The People session and again I learnt a lot. I always knew there were people suffering and needing help in our communities but I never knew how bad it was. Today when I met two people. After hearing their stories I felt so bad for them I wanted to cry. How can people be so heartless and do such things to the people. I understand that organisations say HDB or IRAS may not know what's going on beyond face value but I cannot accept families doing the same. There was one man, married with two children, who got thrown out of the house because his brother got married and needed his room. How does that make sense. Fsmilies are suppose to support each other. Not throw each other out and leave them on their own. Now this family is homeless and spend nights at the beach. It saddens me to know such things happen. So I hope all of you will never have to go through such things. Love and appreciate your family. When you get angry at them for certain reasons, think about all the thinhs they have done for you or you have done together. Nothing is unresolvable within a family. Cherish. 12:03 AM
